    Media Language

Advertisements involving candy and chocolate are usually targeted at children due to kids being more drawn to sweets than adults. Those advertisements are covered in bright colors to attract a child's attention. But in this advertisement, they seem flipped the switch and made it kin to a C-Drama. Instead of targeting young children, this advertisement seeks to target audiences around the ages of 13-60. Using a serious-looking setting of an ancient Chinese city and undercutting it with the clumsy nature of Mr.Bean. Using this language older audiences are able to take the advertisement more easily than if it were an ad filled with cartoons and kids' music.

    Representation

The advertisement seems to take place in ancient China with Mr. Bean and the other characters as Kung Fu masters of sorts. The music in the background is of a Guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument. Along with the Erhu, Dizi, and Tanggu. These instruments are very iconic to China and are frequently used to signal that it's gonna be a very ancient Chinese setting. Whether or not it is intentional that the Asian characters are more competent in martial arts than the caucasian Mr. Bean, it may just be a reference to the iconic British comedy character being a bumbling fool at anything he does.

    Audience

The audience watching this video will mostly focus on the comedy aspect of this advertisement. But they will also connect that eating a snicker will satisfy their hunger and help them focus on any given task. That seeing the clumsy Mr. Bean turn into the very talented and skilled Cheung will give them the impression that this bar of sugar and chocolate can help them be more skilled in their chosen task. The star appeal of this advertisement is very prominent as Mr. Bean is a very internationally recognized, known, and loved figure who will not only draw people in from the UK but all over the world. Since he has been around for a very long time the ad will be able to draw in audiences who have been watching his shows since the 90s

    Industry

The way the characters move and jump is very much a direct reference to Wire-Fu. Kung Fu and parkour did with wires to make their leaps seem effortless. This is a very common practice in WuSha media and can be seen in any period C-Drama set in the ancient world. their hair styles are also very directly referenced to WuSha media as in actual ancient China hair was all tied completely up. The half up half down hair style was certified by Chinese Dramas to make their characters seem more attractive.
