Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia (Indonesian Broadcasting Commission) is in charge of regulating all TV broadcasts for the country to make sure it fits within the country's morality. Much of their censorship leans towards prioritizing religious views. When The Owl House was first added on to Disney+ Indonesia (Disney+ Hotstar) the show was both age restricted and censored. The Comedy show was rated 17+ due to the LGBTQ+ characters and themes. Indonesia is known for it's very homophobic views on the community so the only way the show could exists on Disney+ was to rate it so kids couldn't watch it.
